The performer displays a wooden frame with a large cut-out window. A narrow black metal panel is visible across part of the opening and is shown to be hinged at one end.
A short ribbon is passed arounf the panel. The audience can clearly see that the ribbon is trapped and cannot possibly be removed.
Holding both ends of the ribbon, the performer slowly pulls downward. In full view, the ribbon appears to melt through the solid metal panel while the plate remains visible at all times. The effect creates the astonishing illusion that the ribbon has passed through solid metal!

• The frame measures 14.5 cm (w) × 7 cm (h) × 1 cm (d) (5.71" × 2.76" × 0.39"). The entire piece is crafted from teak wood.
